During the library renovation, some of our journals will be placed in storage. Many of the
journals can be accessed electronically, but if you need a journal article that isn't available online and
we've put the journal in storage, the normal processing fees will be waived. The fees for materials the
Library does not own will remain in effect:
IntraSystem Loan (ISL) allows students, faculty, and staff to request books or
journal articles from other libraries within the UH system.
- Undergraduate students are charged $1.00 per item for journal articles (except students enrolled in Honors or Senior Thesis courses).
- As of July 1, 2008, undergraduate students are charged $1.00 per book (except students enrolled in Honors or Senior Thesis courses).
(Manoa charges Mookini Library at least $3 for every ISL book, so the
library is still paying at least 2/3 of the bill.)
- Undergraduate and Graduate students are charged $3.00 per item for audiovisual
materials (CDs, videos, DVDs, etc.) and for microforms.
- Audiovisual materials from Sinclair must be requested at least two weeks prior to the date
needed.
- You will be notified in approximately 15 days; some items may not be available at all due
to the October 2004 flood damage at UH Manoa.
- To request an ISL, please review the steps at Intrasystem Loan Request Instructions before going online to Hawai'i Voyager.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students who
are enrolled in 300+ level courses to request materials not
available at any of the libraries in the UH System.
- Allow at least three to five weeks for a notification.
- Audiovisual materials and microforms are not available.
- You may request an ILL online or submit request forms to the Reference or Circulation Desks.
Fees apply to undergraduates (except students enrolled in Honors or Senior Thesis courses):
- $3.00 each for journal articles
- $3.00 each for books (as of July 1, 2008)
